Saturday 12th September 2020 – King’s Lynn – 5:30pm Round 3 of The Chase 2020
The next BriSCA F1 meeting takes place on Saturday 12th September as we return to the Adrian Flux Arena, King’s Lynn which is being co-hosted by Startrax and Trackstar.
After round 2 of The Chase at Skegness Raceway it’s all change throughout the points table.
The top two drivers were the talk of weekend as former Ministox drivers Tyrone Evans (381) and Lewis Evans (392) took two wins a piece out of the five races on the night with Tyrone taking the Grand Final win and followed that up with a 9th place finish in the Grand National after a half lap handicap. Both drivers played their joker meaning the biggest points hauls of the series so far.
The twin brothers came to Skegness having only taken part in practice sessions and a lot seemed to be expected of them before the event as they had been so dominant during their Ministox careers. How many would have imagined such a dream start to these 16 year old boys careers?
Rounding off the top three is current World, British and National Points Champion Tom Harris (1). After a nightmare first round which saw Tom blow an engine in his 2nd Heat, Tom’s tarmac car was on form in the wet as he took a 2nd and 3rd in his Heats with a 2nd place finish in the Grand National and it looked like he would have had a high placed finish in the Grand Final had he not encountered a problem on track meaning he was unable to finish the race.
Lee Fairhurst (217) and Jake Harrhy (345) continue their fine form and occupying 4th and 5th in the table and are only 36 and 53 points behind the leader and but neither have played their joker so far. If they can keep up their form you would expect both drivers to score highly regardless of surface.
Paul Hines (259) moves into 7th position as he splits two other drivers who have played their joker but were not present at Skegness, those are shale drivers John Dowson (94) in 6th and Willie Skoyles Jnr (541) in 8th.
Completing the top 10 are Joe Nickolls (242) and Mat Newson (16). Nickolls is now competing with two cars and is certainly making it count as he takes 9th place and Newson puts the misery of mechanical problems at King’s Lynn behind him as he claimed respectable places all evening at Skegness.
As we switch back to a meeting on the loose stuff at King’s Lynn we see Simon Traves (47) making his BriSCA F1 debut and first appearances of 2020 for Charlie Sworder (5), Neil Scriven (11), Karl Hawkins (175), Luke Dennis (192), George Elwell (501) and Frankie Wainman Jnr Jnr (555).
Drivers like Dowson, Skoyles and Frankie Wainman Jnr (515), all absent from Skegness and were the top 3 after the first round, will be looking to close the gap on the leaders.
With Dowson and Skoyles using their joker at the previous King’s Lynn, will Wainman take the chance of using it at the next meeting knowing his car was in fine form? We will have to wait and see!

Meeting Information
The event is advance tickets only and tickets are already sold out. If you have not been able to purchase a ticket, we apologise but there will be no option of purchasing tickets on the day. Failure to produce a valid ticket will cause you to be refused entry to the stadium with no exceptions to this rule.
On completion you will receive an email to show what you have ordered. This will double up as your e-ticket.
You MUST bring this e-ticket with you on your phone or as a printout for the Startrax/Trackstar team to check prior to allowing your admission into the stadium. No ticket, no entry. If you do not receive this, please check any spam or promotions inboxes as some emails end up in their depending on the email account. If you still have not received this, please get in touch with Trackstar as soon as possible.
The spectator area of the stadium will be restricted to the homestraight, turns one, two and four (Stock Car direction) and there will be no access to the back straight, turn three or the pit area.
This event will run whilst complying to the Government guidelines regarding COVID-19 and following the ORCi & Trackstar’s/Adrian Flux Arena’s method statement/risk assessments and imposed new procedures.
Please also be aware that face coverings are now mandatory at all Trackstar events in all areas of the stadium; effective immediately (unless exempt by Government guidance for age, health or disability).
Social distancing must be maintained. Wash/sanitise hands regularly.
Whilst we appreciate this is a lot to understand everyone must abide by the stadium rules whilst at the event. Failure to do so will result in eviction from the stadium.

The Chase 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic brought the whole country to a standstill the week before our season was due to start back in March and with five months having passed, the decision was taken to postpone all major championships until 2021.
Once our sport was given the green light to finally get the season underway, albeit with a redueced capacity crowd, the fixture list was finally agreed and we now have eleven meetings until the end of the season on Sunday 8th November.
The eleven meetings are now officially known as “The Chase 2020 – BriSCA F1 Celebrate Our Frontline Workers”. The winner of this mini series will go down in history as the only person to win the title and will be allowed to display a Rainbow Roof for the 2021 season.
