From Skegness Raceway
BriSCA F1, National Ministox, BriSCA V8 Hotstox
Welcome to Skegness Raceway for our Last event of 2024, The BriSCA Gala Night.
Racing tonight are the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars, BriSCA V8 Hotstox and the National Ministox.
A very warm welcome to the East Coast and the last BriSCA Formula One meeting of the year. Tonight is Gala Night, a non-points scoring meeting, but one which enables us to celebrate the season past. The Ones are joined tonight by the V8 Hotstox and the youngsters of the National Ministox. As an added bonus, a number of drivers from the British Touring Cars Championship, you will have seen them on the telly, get the opportunity to get to grips with the raw power of a Formula One stock car. Also up for grabs is the prestigious U25 Championship for the Formula Ones, and what a crop of rich talent there is.
The V8 Hotstox are a very competitive formula with little between a large number of drivers and the same can be said for the 11-15 year old Mini drivers, the stars of the future. These kids only know one way to drive and that is flat out but don’t be deceived as they are very skilful drivers indeed.
BTCC Drivers
The 16th Nov sees the third running of the BTCC race. Big news this year is Bobby Thompson has taken out a license and is competing in the whole meeting! Kudos to Bobby for stepping up and huge thank you to Jamie Davidson Scrap Metals for the loan of the car for the evening. Bobby will be starting from red grade and I’m sure he will enjoy it. No doubt some of the regulars will be looking forward to bumping into him during the night.
We have a lot of excitement building for Saturday. Paul O’Neil returns to the track along with Ryan Bensley and Dan Welch for their third outing in a BriSCA F1.
Jade Edwards loved it last year and is back on the grid ready to get stuck in.
Father and son Ricky and Rob Collard will take to the SkegVegas oval too. Ricky raced last season and has been seen in the crowd at one or two F1 meets during the season. Dad Rob has entered to ‘show my lad how to race an oval car’ and I’m sure will be keen to show who number 1 is in the Collard family come Saturday night.
Josh Cook will enter the race for the third time and will be looking for victory this time around after going close both previous years.
New entrant for this season is Mikey Doble who is so keen to give contact racing a go. A successful season last year in the touring cars Mikey jumped at the chance to race Saturday.
