Saturday 10th/Sunday 11th October 2020 – Skegness – 5pm/12 noon – Rounds 7 & 8 of The Chase 2020
Our next two meetings take place this weekend at Skegness Raceway for the only speed weekend of this shortened season. The last meeting at Skegness saw Tom Harris (1) take victory in the Grand Final followed by the teenage sensations, The Evans twins Lewis (392) and Tyrone (381).
After Round 6 of The Chase 2020 at a very cold, wet and windy day in the Derbyshire hills of Buxton, Mark Sargent (326) continues to lead the way in the points which will currently see him on pole for the championship race on the Sunday 8th November at King’s Lynn. Sargent’s lead has been cut slightly after Tom Harris (1) put in another good performance and is now only 31 points adrift.
Frankie Wainman Jnr (515) makes the top three for the first time in the championship after some excellent places on Saturday which was finished off with a win in the Grand National.
The first of the Evans twins, Tyrone, currently lies in 6th place from three meetings whilst Lewis lies in 9th so far in the championship and will be interesting to see if they take their place on the grid for the finale at King’s Lynn having only done tarmac meetings so far.
Craig Finnikin (55), a surprise inclusion to the booking list for Buxton, seemed to make the correct choice in terms of results after picking up a 3rd and 5th in his Heats, victory in the Grand Final followed by 9th in the Grand National from the lap handicap. Finnkin’s Grand Final win was his first on tarmac in over 15 years of racing and he did so in style as he quickly reeled in the Evans twins and didn’t look back. His results see him jump from 11th to 7th in the table.
Finnikin must be pleased with his efforts after Buxton as he books in for this weekend as he searches for his 4th Grand Final win on the bounce.

The Chase 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic brought the whole country to a standstill the week before our season was due to start back in March and with five months having passed, the decision was taken to postpone all major championships until 2021.
Once our sport was given the green light to finally get the season underway, albeit with a redueced capacity crowd, the fixture list was finally agreed and we now have eleven meetings until the end of the season on Sunday 8th November.
The eleven meetings are now officially known as “The Chase 2020 – BriSCA F1 Celebrate Our Frontline Workers”. The winner of this mini series will go down in history as the only person to win the title and will be allowed to display a Rainbow Roof for the 2021 season.
Fundraising has begun for The Chase 2020 and more information can be find via the GoFundMe page below:

Really good booking list, interesting names : Catherine Harris best of luck to her. Also Gordon Moodie in a formula one, remember him a few years ago borrowing a Mark Gilbank car, I cannot remember if Ryan Harrison has ever been behind the wheel of an F2?. Should be a good weekends racing, with the weather not to bad.
Was Gordon Moodies heat win last night his first ever victory in Brisca F1
