Saturday 25th June 2022 – Bradford – British Championship

This Saturday we return to Odsal Stadium, Bradford, where the drivers will do battle to claim the first major championship of the season, the BSCDA British Drivers Championship.
There are two clear contenders for this championship based on their form around the Odsal shale. The first is the defending champion Ryan Harrison (197) who clinched the title at Skegness last season and current World, European and National Points champion Tom Harris (1). Both drivers have been dominant on shale this season with not much between them on their previous visits to Odsal. Harrison will be aiming to keep hold of his title whilst Harris will be looking to hold the four major titles at once.
Lee Fairhurst (217) will no doubt be viewed as a contender after debuting his new car at the previous Odsal meeting where he went on to win the Grand Final on the night.
You simply cannot rule out a win for Frankie Wainman Jnr (515) who holds the record for most British Championship wins with 9 titles with his closest rival being John Lund (53) who has won the title 6 titles. Paul Harrison (2) will also be looking to add to his 4 titles and Fairhurst’s 2 titles.
This meeting also sees the return of Rob Speak (318) who will be looking to make his appearance a good one as he tries to claim the only major title to have eluded him in BriSCA F1. Speak made an appearance at the Gala Night at the end of 2021 at this own track, Skegness Raceway, where he showed he still had what it takes.
Who will take home the championship? Make sure you head over to Odsal for the 5pm start time on Saturday.
