
SPEDEWORTH REALLY IS INTERNATIONAL!
It really is beginning to look like a World Final!
Next week we will take a detailed look at the qualifiers from Mainland Europe however just to whet the appetite 50 are booked in for the full three days of the Big World Final Spectacular.
Fridays Overseas World Final warm up will feature a full two heat format of overseas visitors, consolation, Final and Grand National with competitors exclusively from Mainland Europe and New Zealand on the grid and action gets underway at 6.45.pm. In support are the heavy metal National Saloons and a full entry list will be released several days prior but already several Dutch entries have been received.
Today we preview the entrants from our friends in New Zealand with four competitive entries into the World Final. Time trials at 1pm on Saturday will determine the grid positions for all non-UK drivers before the event gets underway at 4.15pm with the Consolation Semi Final where just two will become the last entries at the back of the grid.
Asher Rees 1NZ

Asher lives and breeds Speedway, from racing them to building and maintaining Race cars. Asher works his father Peter Rees who builds and maintains race cars at Rees Race cars. Asher started in the Youth Class, our version of Ministox, he then moved on to the Stockcar Class. Asher is only a handful of Drivers New Zealand wide who have won Both New Zealand Championship in the Superstock and Stockcars Class. Asher has a long list of success.

Mitch Vickery 26K

Mitch Lives in Taranaki and has been racing for 10 years now starting in Youth Ministox before making the move into the stockcars class and eventually into superstocks. The late night in the shed with his crew started paying off and in 2020 Mitch place 3rd at the New Zealand Stockcar Championship (3NZ), That then lead into mitch Gaining a 3rd place Finish at the 2021 New Zealand Superstock Championship, 3rd Place at the 2022 TWS World 240s and 3rd Place at the 2022 BriSCAWorld Masters at Northampton.
Rebecca Barr 34P

Rebecca aka Bex got into speedway by her Well-known Father Graeme Barr and started in the Youth Ministox Class at the aged of 12. At the age of 17 Bex’s made the transaction from the Youth Ministox into the Superstock. Fast forward 10 year you can still see Bex’s racing Superstock class and for the last couple years the stockcar class.
Bex’s success are 2x Aotearoa Ladies Crown, Qualifying for the New Zealand Superstock Champs (2022/2023) 2nd place at the World 248s Superstock Challenge (2021/2022). Just to name a few.
Rebecca also has Competed in the Superstock teams Champs. In fact, she was the First Ever Female to line up in the Teams Champs.
Kaelin Timms-Mooney 26V

21, year old Kaelin races out of Whanganui’s Ocean View Speedway in his Superstock 26V. He came through the Youth Ministox class and has also raced Stockcars.
