The Chase Championship 2020 – More Information
The BSCDA and BriSCA are delighted to announce more information regarding “The Chase” Championship which will be the race for the Rainbow Roof.
We have been working closely with race fans David and Ben Crosby over the past few months organising this extra special eleven round series.
Here are a few words from Ben himself:
“I think we can all agree that it is great to finally be back racing after this whole “extended break” that has been forced upon us owing to the circumstances of the world right now. This coronavirus pandemic has devastated the Country and required us to call on our wonderful NHS and key frontline staff more than could ever had been imagined; the bravery and sacrifice of our doctors, nurses, teachers, shopworkers, lorry drivers, etc. to get us to a position where life can start to resemble some normality is remarkable and requires all our gratitude. To these heroes, the BriSCA F1 family of drivers, teams, fans and promotions want to say THANK YOU; We intend to race a limited season 20 for the Rainbow Roof as a tribute to your efforts.
We aim for this special series to be one to remember for the right reasons and do some good by raising money in support of NHS Charities Together. This charity supports over 240 NHS charities across the UK and helps their hospitals and staff to do more. From tech support, to staff welfare, to access when they need it to mental health agencies, to local trust ambulances, all are supported by this central fund. Sir Capt Tom Moore championed their cause and we would love to carry on his great effort. To that end 90% of the Go Fund Me profits will go to the NHS Charities, the other 10% to grade awards for those competing in the series.
The reward for winning this bespoke once in a lifetime title will be the opportunity of wearing the Rainbow Roof. A brand new aerofoil that is being donated by a well-known star stockcar racer and being chaotically signwritten by a former F1 stockcar racer. This Rainbow Roof will have all the names of those who have donated a minimum of £10 to the NHS fundraiser on it marking the BriSCA F1 family tribute. Hot off the press is that this prize wing will then be used on display cars all the way upto next seasons World Final so fans can see their name and get a picture – the aim will be different cars “on display” prior to each meeting and possibly at motor shows. At World Final 21 the wing will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
The BriSCA drivers, teams and promotions are behind this fundraiser. The BriSCA F1 Family has decided to give something back to the fans by offering some extremely unique Stox events that will be included within a prize draw element of the fundraiser; already we have announced a one off stoxkart hire for a meeting in season 21 courtesy of Ian Higgins, and we can now also add a Sunday lunch for 4 with the Harrhys including a workshop tour! Some money cannot buy stox prizes with many more to be released over the next few weeks.
This will be drawn at the series finale on the 8th November and to be in with a chance of winning just donate as below to potentially get something not just a stoxs-fan, but a fan of motorsport, would absolutely love.
• For a minimum £10 donation you will get your name added to The Rainbow Roof
• For a minimum £20 you get your name added and also will get one entry to the Rainbow Raffle. (Each £20 = 1 raffle entry so £40 would get 2 shots, etc.)
• For a minimum £30 you can add your company logo (small) to the roof and get one entry to the Rainbow Raffle
• For a minimum £40 you can have all above plus the official t-shirt (orders coming in soon)
Of course, all donations are kindly received
The Fund currently has a goal of £5k but we are certain that we can easily beat that target; BriSCA F1 is known for its “family” of teams, drivers, fans and promotions and we are certain that we will all come together and help this special cause.
To donate, please see below:
Stay tuned for updates and more prize reveals over the next few weeks, I am sure you do not want to miss any of this!!!
LET’S GO RACING!

How It Works
Attendance points : 10 for each driver that races per round.
Race points : All races (except stand alone white and yellows races) will be based on the number of cars that take to the grid in each race. Points will be scored for all finishing drivers as recorded by my laps down to 1 point.
For example 24 cars in a race will see the winners scoring 24 pts, second 23 pts, third 22 pts etc down to 24th 1 point. If only 6 cars finish, points will only be scored down to sixth.
Final winners will still start “The Chase” Grand National a lap down and will be awarded double points wherever they finish. They will not receive the standard 5 bonus points if they finish outside the top 12.
Drivers will be allowed to play one Rainbow Joker which must be confirmed when booking in a week previous. When the joker is in play all points scored at that meeting will be doubled, including attendance points.
Points will be scored for “The Chase” up to Round 10. “The Chase” Final at Sheffield will see 24 cars take to a closed grid Final in points scoring order. Subject to confirmation there will be a last chance race where two positions will be up for grabs. The first and second place driver will take to the back row of the “The Chase” Championship Final race. A full format meeting will follow.
There will also be “The Chase” Series grade awards winners from the 10 rounds which will be announced before the meeting starts at Sheffield.
We already have two drivers playing their Rainbow Jokers at King’s Lynn this week, watch this space to see who later in the week.
Good luck to all the drivers on Saturday night for the 1st meeting in the Chase series. Im sure that after a few rounds this series will really take off, and the bumpers will start to go in. Like other shoot-outs ,jokers and double points will play there part. Harris will be clear favourite, Wainman i feel needs a good start and did i read somewhere that he was cutting back on his racing. But given the reason this is happening wouldn’t it be fitting if Matt Newson won his 1st title ,and he knows more than anyone the work the NHS provide.
I personally would love to see 259 Paul Hines win it or 16 Matt Newson 🏁🏆
