Saturday 19th September 2020 – Skegness – 6pm – Round 4 of The Chase 2020

The next BriSCA F1 meeting takes place on Saturday 19th September as we return to Skegness Raceway for Round 4 of The Chase for the rainbow roof.

After Round 3 of The Chase at the Adrian Flux Arena, King’s Lynn, it’s all change at the top of the table.

Mark Sargent (326) now leads the points chase after a fantastic meeting which saw him take an 11th place in Heat 2, a win in Heat 3, a fantastic 3rd place in the Grand Final after a tough battle throughout and a 9th place in the Grand National, all whilst playing his double points joker. We are sure Sargent will be delighted to take the top spot.

‘Mr Consistent’ Lee Fairhurst (217) now takes 2nd place, only 50 points behind Sargent having attended each meeting so far and has yet to play his joker. It will be interesting to see when and where he will use his.

Tom Harris (1) keeps his 3rd place based on his highest score at Skegness but is level on points with Jake Harrhy (345) after yet another miserable night on the King’s Lynn shaleway with what appeared to be another blown engine but Jake had another excellent evening, putting his joker to good use.

One half of the teenage sensations occupies 5th place. Tyrone Evans (381) will be hoping to continue his fine form from his debut meeting at Skegness a few weeks ago whilst brother Lewis (392) slips to 11th place.

6th and 7th place drivers John Dowson (94) and Frankie Wainman Jnr (515), likely absentees at Skegness on Saturday, continued their shale form from the first meeting and are still in contention for the rainbow roof with Wainman not opting to play his joker so far.

Joe Nickolls (242), Russell Cooper (415) and Craig Finnikin (55) round out the top 10 after another great meeting with Nickolls scoring consistently and both Cooper and Finnikin taking a win each, Cooper a Heat and Finnikin the Grand Final and following that up with a 3rd in the Grand National from the lap handicap.

Spectators are restricted to the arena only. The pit area is reserved for the drivers, teams, families/named guests who should ensure they follow the details issued by each formula. Unfortunately, to respect social distancing and to follow guidance, we are very sorry, but NO admittance is permitted to the pit area other than nominated/named people with race teams who have wristbands that will be issued on arrival to designated people.

Please social distance and follow notices etc in the stadium arena and toilets. Please respect any requests from staff who are only working for your safety and enjoyment. With the open layout we have plenty of room.

The Chase 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic brought the whole country to a standstill the week before our season was due to start back in March and with five months having passed, the decision was taken to postpone all major championships until 2021.

Once our sport was given the green light to finally get the season underway, albeit with a redueced capacity crowd, the fixture list was finally agreed and we now have eleven meetings until the end of the season on Sunday 8th November.

The eleven meetings are now officially known as “The Chase 2020 – BriSCA F1 Celebrate Our Frontline Workers”. The winner of this mini series will go down in history as the only person to win the title and will be allowed to display a Rainbow Roof for the 2021 season.

Fundraising has begun for The Chase 2020 and more information can be find via the GoFundMe page.
