Saturday 26th September 2020 – King’s Lynn – 5:30pm Round 5 of The Chase 2020

The next BriSCA F1 meeting takes place on Saturday 26th September as we return to the Adrian Flux Arena, King’s Lynn hosted by Trackstar.

After round 4 of The Chase at Skegness Raceway the top of the table remains the same with the East Coast Legend, Mark Sargent (326) still leading the way but after a difficult evening on tarmac his lead has been cut to just 8 points. With a return to King’s Lynn on Saturday, it’s possible that ECL could increase his advantage again having been voted Standout Performer at both meetings held there so far. John Dowson (94) gained the nickname ‘Mr Belle Vue’, maybe Sarge is ‘Mr King’s Lynn’. Can he make it a hat-trick on Saturday?

Tom Harris (1) jumps from 3rd to 2nd as he overtakes Lee Fairhurst (217) after being the highest points scorer at Skegness last weekend, taking a win in a Heat and the Grand Final whilst Fairhurst continues his consistent form leaving him only 12 points behind Sargent. It will be interesting to see when Fairhurst plans to use his joker as he is the only driver in the top 6 not to have played it to date.

Jake Harrhy (345) continues to pick up excellent results and remains in 4th place whilst Tyrone Evans (381) continues to excel on tarmac, also remaining in 5th place. Brother Lewis (392) makes a big leap back up the table after another fantastic performance, taking a Heat win and the Grand National too, jumping from 11th to 6th.

Frankie Wainman Jnr (515) remains in the top 10 in 7th place after making his first appearance on tarmac this season picking up those vital points after turning up in an unfamiliar car that previously belonged to Ben Hurdman (207).

Paul Hines (259) had a better meeting compared to the previous two meetings to allow him to jump back into the top 10 in 8th with Joe Nickolls (242) and Russell Cooper (415) rounding out the top 10.

Big gains were made for some outside of the top 10 on Saturday, Finn Sargent (526) having his best results in The Chase so far with 71 points putting him into 15th, whilst 16th placed Eddie Collins (147) had another great tarmac meeting with 86 points and Phoebe Wainman (211) in 17th has consistently improved at each meeting attended with a best of 84 points.

The Chase 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic brought the whole country to a standstill the week before our season was due to start back in March and with five months having passed, the decision was taken to postpone all major championships until 2021.

Once our sport was given the green light to finally get the season underway, albeit with a redueced capacity crowd, the fixture list was finally agreed and we now have eleven meetings until the end of the season on Sunday 8th November.

The eleven meetings are now officially known as “The Chase 2020 – BriSCA F1 Celebrate Our Frontline Workers”. The winner of this mini series will go down in history as the only person to win the title and will be allowed to display a Rainbow Roof for the 2021 season.

Fundraising has begun for The Chase 2020 and more information can be find via the GoFundMe page below:
